A brief touchdown in Poland

We arrived in Wroclaw, Poland this weekend only to find that the UK border agency are still issuing travel documents that state a visa is NOT required to travel to Poland.

As my partner Chris is an asylum seeker he was issued such a passport three years ago by the UK border agency.

So Chris was sent back to the UK shortly after landing as the Polish border said Chris did need a visa. Joseph Heller eat your heart out!

Catch 22

Tears from myself & numerous calls to the UK border agency & British consulate (thank you Liddy!) unfortunately didn't help so they put Chris on a plane back to Liverpool where he then had to get back to pay for a hotel & then travel to Bradford.

Ryan air are not doing their job properly as they should not have allowed the travel in the first place but stamped his passport anyway.

The polish authorities say it happens 20 or so times a year and each time Poland fines them €300!

Felt like we were stuck in a Kafka novel.

Not a good start to our weekend but finally met up with Uni pals & had a nice evening meal & beers in Wroclaw but missing Chris
