Dunnottar Castle
We had to be out of our cottage today, so we’re up early packing up and tidying. It’s amazing how many bottles TT has accumulated in a week!!
We headed down the road, stoping again at Pitmedden Garden, and today it was open. It was a really lively morning, sunny and warm, and we just wandered. While the garden is just coming to life, there were a few things to see, not least the very impressive layout of the formal garden. The trees in the orchard, and those against the walls were covered in blossom. We had a very nice early lunch, sitting outside in a sun trap. We then continued on our journey south.
Our next stop was Dunnottar Castle. We tried to visit it last year but it was closed due to high winds. We were able to visit it today. We were last here about twenty years ago, and I visited it a few times when I was young, but it is always very impressive to visit. Many many more people visit it nowadays. When I was young, we might have been the only people there. Changed days!
From there we drove all the way home. We got in just after BB had returned home. He was going to a leaving party for one of his rugby team, but was very disorganised! I did what I could, but left him to it and went out for a walk, and to pick up a couple of things. Meanwhile TT was cutting the grass. When I got back, BB had gone out, and TT was starting to prepare some food.
We were both rather weary, so had a very quiet rest of evening.
This is Dunnottar Castle, the extra is Pitmedden.
