Bring out the Baron

A bit of an Easter treat here.

My slice of Baron Bigod (English Brie) has the face of a mouse this morning.

The cheese is made by Jonny Crickmore and his family at Fen Farm in Suffolk. Baron Bigod is a Frenchman who came to England in 1066 with William the Conqueror. He was a descendant of Emperor Charlemagne who allegedly discovered Brie.

It's much creamier than Brie with a lighter flavour. Great to spread on your sourdough :-)
