Near Flateyri, Vestfirði, Ísland. The remains of a whaling station (cf Bunabhainneadar in Harris, Western Isles) which a Norwegian, Ellefsen, operated for 12 years until it burnt down in 1901.

Flateyri is a very flat fishing town on Önundarfjörður and in 1995 an avalanche flattened 29 houses and killed 20 people there. The film Nói Albínói (trailer) reminds me more of Flateyri than of Bolungarvík (not far away), where it was actually set and filmed.
