A day out in Switzerland
Went to Martigny to see Pierre Gianadda’s Sculpture Garden and an exhibition of some Francis Bacon’s art work. Amazing to find in this little Swiss town sculptures by Rodin, Hepworth and Moore and mosaics by Marc Chagall. Some modern artists as well and all set in beautiful gardens. I’m not a fan of Francis Bacon but I did like his portrait of Van Gogh. We had a very fine Swiss lunch as well accompanied by local wine. Considering it was also a bank holiday here it was incredible to drive on empty roads and find only a couple of people in the gardens.
