Bodmin
We dodged the showers today to explore Bodmin. The town built up around a monastery founded by St Petroc in the 7th century. The parish church of St Petroc (in my pictures) is the biggest church in Cornwall apart from Truro Cathedral. Next door to it is a ruined chancery chapel (bottom right) which was founded in 1377 with a priest to pray for the soul of St Thomas a Becket.
Bodmin is full of interesting shops. MrHCB found a vinyl shop with a long coveted LP by “Ziggy Stardust”. The shopkeeper threw in for free “Gene Pitney’s Greatest Hits” as I was reminiscing about how my mother loved “24 hours from Tulsa” :-)
