Dartmoor in the sunshine

Brunch with my Godmother who is a great strength to everyone whose life she meets.
Her thoughts remind me that if you simply read and watch the news on tv or listen to it on the radio how insular and con-formative you can become. A broad minded person travels and absorbs a vast amount of information from likeminded people giving a very different perspective on how the world actually operates.
Dippy and I enjoyed a dash around the local park in Bovey Tracey together with several packs of dogs enjoying each other’s freedom from their tethers. Bumped into lots of people in happy spirits including Ben who recognised me from nearly 15 years ago when he stayed with a friend in the village where I was working, he said that I hadn’t changed my appearance or persona. Good to know:))
A visit to Fernworthy reservoir is always a most memorable experience whatever the weather and today was exceptionally so.
If I were able to bottle and spread the serenity and natural beauty that is there then the world would be filled with a lot more kindness and compassion.
A lovely encounter with a lovely young adventurous person with similar interests lasting longer than either of us would have thought made us both more knowledgeable and happy. She loved Dippy even though he wasn’t the centre of attention for the duration of our meeting.
The atmosphere was rejuvenating and will be an enduring memory.
All in all a wonderful day.
