A Guernsey pillar box…

This was painted in the rainbow colours of LGBTQ last summer when Channel Islands Pride was held in Guernsey. And they’ve left it like that ever since. I like our unique blue post boxes ( or maybe unique; I’m not sure what colour Jersey post boxes are) but I love these bright colours!
CI Pride will be in Jersey this year so hopefully there is nothing that might prompt repainting it.
And it’s beautifully painted and looks very smooth so should fit the brief for tiny Tuesday. If you don’t think it’s tiny, well tiny might be a slight exaggeration but we do have large pillar boxes where Bailiwick mail is separated from ‘other’ mail so just a bit of poetic licence needed!

And finally do you know how ‘Blimey’ came into general use?
Blimey is a short version of a traditionally London term which is “cor blimey” or “gor blimey”. The original term was “god blind me” but this has long since been lost. Blimey is a term used to express surprise or shock at something. It is commonly used in New Zealand and Australia as well as the South of the UK mainly.
