Assynt Towers has been painted!
I'm still inhaling it's sweet scent. Earlier this morning I wrote this.
When I opened my bedroom curtains, direct sunlight flashed in, so I brought them back a bit, narrowing the band of light. Then I gently let each of the triple glazed window units lean towards me, allowing some cool morning air to waft in. Something else penetrated the space. It was the sound of the woman over the way raging at her child. I got it straight away. The first day back at school after the Easter holidays and the child was dragging his feet. Probably a boy. You wouldn’t rage at a girl, would you? I hear her shouting at him quite often. If you need to bawl at your child you have long lost the argument. I imagined her ranting bouncing off his invisible armour. He might slowly acquiesce, if only to save his eardrums from further punishment.
I'm now housebound again, waiting for a joiner to fix my lock. Apparently he's coming between noon and 17:30. My bet is half past four.
