I woke to mist, went for a drive in the mist and got a week’s supply of milk as I passed back through Ambleside. What I didn’t get were photos.

After lunch I walked to Waterhead, with a wander around the garden centre on the way to see what has changed since the new owners took over last week. Much is similar, but some brands stocked before are missing, including my preferred bird seed (well, preferred by the birds). The plant area seems well stocked and there’s a new addition . . . tree ferns. Not sure what the demand for those will be in these parts.

Onwards to the lake where the prom was very quiet and the views too contrasty to photograph, hence the shot of Donald with the girls. I think all the electric hire boats have been named by staff members.
