24 Spot Ladybird
Subcoccinella vigintiquatuorpunctata. How many of you knew that, and how many can say it.
I thought this would be suitable for a smooth Tiny Tuesday, but maybe not. Wikipedia claims it differs from many of the well-known ladybirds in being neither smooth and shiny nor an eater of aphids: the wing-cases look velvety and it eats fungal moulds on plants. Well it looked pretty smooth and shiny to me. It certainly was tiny, 3-4mm long.
Spotted (sorry) in the meadow that I can never remember the name of behind the church.
In other news we spent a bit of time this morning juggling some financial affairs. It involved a longish phone call to Atom Bank as I couldn't get their app to set up properly. The lady on the phone was very patient and helpful, even when mrsfb had to disappear to change a hearing aid battery. Not like me to recommend a bank but I gave them 10/10 on the follow up survey.
