Hound Tor and Great Tor
With the Easter holiday being over for most people I thought it would be safe to go up to the moor. It was looking like a nice day and I managed to get out earlyish. I did get a few spits of rain on my windscreen on the way but it was mostly dry while I was out. The rain did start up just as I got home though.
I parked at Hound Tor and walked up. There was an all grey herd of Dartmoor ponies which seemed unusual and worth a photo especially as they had their heads up. That photo is in as an extra.
I carried on up Hound Tor and down to Great Tor which is one of my favourites. I noticed there were quite a few single bluebells in places. It seems very early for Moorland bluebells so I think it'll be worth checking Holwell Lawn and Emsworthy Mire in a week or so.
As I was scoping out compositions the sun came out and lit up this little hawthorn tree so that's my main blip for today.
