Much sadness and distress

Today as we drove south from our gate we were suddenly struck by the deathly change in colour of our treasured kauri tree. We are much saddened and distressed.
25 years ago Mary-Anne germinated a number of seeds from a kauri cone and when they reached  safe and sufficient size we planted them in our garden along the western border. 10 were planted and just this one survived and has warmed our hearts and made us proud this last quarter of a century.
The kauri is treasured in New Zealand and a vital and important tree in our native forest.
For some years now the Kauri tree of New Zealand has been attacked by Kauri die back disease and it seems there is no treatment or relief.
