Cow Green Reservoir

On Monday we dropped Chis over to the station in Darlington on the East Coast Mainline.. The west coast mainline from Penrith to London was subject to engineering works which would have meant 2 train changes plus a bus replacement service and that's if it went to schedule...
So an early trip over the Pennines to the historic Darlington Station. A fine building even with the scaffolding.
On the way back we diverted to Cow Green Reservoir for a walk down to Cauldron Snout. The bird life was superb. Grouse, Lapwing, Curlew, Plover and many more.
