Expensive Leaf?

       Many years ago Alice and I bought an "expensive dry twig" in a Pot; ,I think it was a whole FIVE QUID.  ( :¬o) It came close to a garden take-over; if you see what I mean.
       Prices have changed somewhat since, but, in ignorance of what it becomes and how long it lasts you have to admit it's an expensive trio?
