Grainy vs Total Darkness

Over the winter on late evening dog walks I've been seeing the glowing eyes of a pair of deer staring at me as I walked the dog past in the darkness. I had expected that when the nights lightened up enough to see them, that they wouldn't be coming to this field anymore, but here they are... OK so it's nearly 21:00 on a hand held camera phone so the pic isn't great, but still... :-)
