Strange Bedfellows
My sister and brother-in-law are staying with us this week and we visited the Sainsbury Centre Art Gallery. Currently some of the ancient exhibits are sharing their display cases with small glazed ceramic figures. These extra figures, mostly rats and frogs set amongst waste products and litter, are the work of artist Lindsey Mendick, who has created them to explore ‘her intertwined relationship with alcohol, mental illness and antidepressants’.
