An Alpaca Adventure

B, H and I took three naughty alpacas for a walk today.  Deep in rural Norfolk we met Rafferty, Ruben and Nico.  We only walked a short circuit around their local village, led by Gayle, but it took us well over an hour and a half, as, like most animals, they are led by their stomachs (of which they have three!), and they kept stopping to munch on grass, hedges, low hanging leaves etc.  I was surprised at how strong they are when they spot food and how stubborn they could be.

I'm sure B (bom) will tell you all about Naughty Nico, who she was leading.  I was in charge (or perhaps not!) of Rafferty, the darkest alpaca and definitely the best behaved.  The walk was lovely, along country lanes with banks awash with violets and primroses and through an attractive wood with huge swathes of wild garlic.

Our three charges enjoyed some tasty hay when we got back and we were served tea from an alpaca teapot and milk jug and in alpaca mugs. As well as cake (baked in the shape of an alpaca of course, see extra), and some delicious chocolate brownies.

What a wonderful and fun way to spend a morning.
