Shield bug

An outdoorsy day - well, an indoor-outdoors day for me, painting the inside of the summer house again.  I'm over three-quarters of the way through now (except for the second coat, but we'll worry about that later).  Tim meanwhile cut all the hedges down the side of the house, from the upper terrace (OK, front garden - I like to imagine something fancier) to the lower gardens (back garden - you get the picture).

We were both tired after our efforts, but had a nice little sit out the front later on, to soak up a bit of sun.  Tim spotted this little green shield bug sitting on one of our solar lights (temporarily displaced and sitting in one of the huge plant pots I bought recently), so of course I had to get a couple of snaps.
