On the move
We were up before sunrise this morning so that Nick could walk Bertie and I could finish the last of the packing in the motor home ready to set off for an era,y ferry at Craignure. The boat was quite busy, with nearly as many dogs as people (only a slight exaggeration). It was a lovely calm sail until we were approaching the entrance to Oban Bay when forward motion suddenly stopped and we rur ed through 279 degrees. Very quickly an announcement was made over the tannoy, telling us that there would be a slight delay in arriving at Oban due to a fault with the steering! We all waited very patiently (was there any other option ?) for about fifteen minutes before the problem was sorted and we set sail once more. Phew! It could have been a lot worse.
My blip was the view at the head of Loch Awe where we stopped to give Bertie a leg stretch before heading to Inveraray to have some food at our favourite cafe.
From there it was a short hop, skip and a jump round Loch Fyne, over the Rest and Be Thankful, then onward to Loch Long and Loch Lomond towards Glasgow. Once over the Erskine Bridge it was a short drive to our parking spot for the next couple of nights and rather smart it is too.
