Near Kilburn Castle at the north east end of Loch

Awe. (Loch Awe, that is.)

A dazzling spring day found me heading tortuously westward from Edinburgh - Stirling, Callander, Crianlarich, Dalmally, the gorgeous but long-winded tiny-road on the south side of the eponymous Loch, to tiny Ford and eventually the site of the old Crinan ferry. Back via Lochgilphead, Inverarry, Arroch and the stunning and mysterious Glen Douglas where 40,000 tonnes of munitions are stored, down the side of Loch Lomond, Stirling again and finally Edinburgh.
