I'm Spinning Around...
So we were flying home with FinnAir, via Helsinki, and I had checked which route they took beforehand which was up between Russia and Alaska, then over the artic ocean and down to Finland, However seeing it in action almost blew my mind....
Finland is west of Japan.... however we flew east instead, and eventually crossed the international date line making the time earlier than when we started. It also was going to go directly over the north pole and because of that, we travelled through about 8 timezones in 15 mins, every few mins the clock would advance an hour. You can see why some people choose to believe the world is flat, much easier to understand.
The flight was good, landed in Helsinki about 2.30am, the lounge was shut for an hour but we headed along and then we realised they had showers, ya beauty, enough time before our flight to Edinburgh which was also and the first time we'd flown south down the east coast, arriving at 7.30am.
We got the tram to Leith Walk and picked up the car Ms H had left there on her way to work, then drove to Arlo's kennels to pick him up. When we got home we had our fourth breakfast of the day... each in different timezones.
We had a wee walk when picking up Ms H, lovely afternoon/evening.
