Even More bluebells
Many years ago a man named Felix Dennis made an enormous amount of money out of publishing, specifically computer and hobbyist magazines in the UK. He was involved in the infamous Oz blasphemy trials in the seventies.
He lived in Dorsington Warwickshire.
He decided to use his huge amount of money to plant a forest in this area. He planted an enormous number of trees in pockets around Warwickshire . It was originally called the Forest of Dennis but is now the Heart of England Forest.
Part of the forest nearby has a “ Natural burial Ground “ for those who prefer a nice bit of woodland to a dreary old cemetery.
The area is adjacent to a beautiful bluebell wood , and they’ve held fundraising open days recently , maybe the Dennis coffers are running low. Anyway it’s only just up the road from our house so we went there today and I must admit it’s very beautiful and tranquil.
We spent about an hour walking round. I thought to be a bit different I’d blip an ICM shot of bluebells and stitchwort for Abstract Thursday and put some of the more traditional photos in a collage extra.
Felix Dennis died in 2014
