Snails!
We drove back from Cornwall this morning, 3 days earlier than planned, as the weather forecast for the south east of England is much better than for Cornwall this weekend. Yesterday our final visit was to the Newquay garden centre. Somehow the plants in Cornwall look so happy and healthy (not to mention half the price), so we filled the car boot. This afternoon we have started to plant them out :-)
The flower in the main is a tree peony. We brought it back from Tuscany as a seedling many years ago. The yellow flowers are fairly small and simple, but plentiful. As I looked closely at this one I found that it has not just one Roman snail hiding amongst its petals, but two!
