Cathedral ruins

I'd promised myself a few day trips with the newly acquired rail card and today was the first one.

I always have a wander round both the ruins and the new cathedral if I go over to Coventry. I grew up in Warwickshire and whilst I wasn't an Anglican then, that came when I went into higher education for teacher training, I did grow up with stories of the night the Cathedral was bombed. There's a statue of Queen Victoria which got shifted by a couple of inches on its plinth from the force of the blast, 10 miles away, and it's never been moved back as a permanent reminder of the effects of the bombings. At least it hadn't the last time I was in Leamington to check!! Maybe that's another trip... but not tomorrow, that's planned.
