Solitary Bee
This time of year, when I see the beeflies, I also see the solitary bees that they prey on.
This one is a chocolate mining bee, Andrena scotica resting on my Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Silver Queen'.
Although I am pretty certain of my ID, there is always a little niggle of doubt as there are over 200 species of solitary bee. However, this species is common so more than likely that is what it is.
