The Dawn Service in Perth

It was an early alarm - 4.45am this morning and after a quick cup of tea It was time to head up to Kings Park for the Anzac Day Dawn Service.  As soon as I reached Fraser Avenue I could see hundreds of people quietly walking along to the War Memorial Precinct for the service.  It was a very moving scene and there must have been thousands of people there by the time the service commenced at just after 5.30am.  It was an extremely emotional experience and incredible to be standing in amongst the thousands of onlookers, all standing and watching in total silence.  I didn't hear one word spoken by anyone around me for the duration of the service.  Total respect for the brave men and woman who have fought for our freedom.  "Lest We Forget"
Today was such a contrast to my journal yesterday.
