Rain forecast?

It remains to be seen whether these recumbent cows are forecasting rain or just fancy a lie down! It struck me as unusual that they were gathered together in such close proximity. They looked very contented.

I was cutting through the narrow lanes near Westhumble, through the beautiful valley that leads from Dorking to Polesden Lacey. This valley used to be part of the ancient Chapel Farm and its landscape was considered so important that when it came up for sale a few years ago it was bought by the National Trust and the farm is let to a tenant. There is a ruined chapel nearer to the farm. It makes for a pleasant journey home from Dorking instead of the racetrack dual carriageway A24
