Chess.
On the first day here I was called to in the street to visit a shop, not what you'd call a unusual experience here, but this time there was a chess set readied for a game and possibly the most beautiful set I've ever seen sat above it on display.
So over I went.
And met Yusuf, who promptly taught me how rusty I'd become. Three times. We talked and then five hours had passed.
Today's return offered no improvement, three nil but longer games two before a walk to the northern lake and then another on the way back, sunset from Yusuf's rooftop...
And Udaipur is pretty lovely, a bit mad and chaotic around the temple crossroads, the city of lakes indeed. Quite splendid to wander, longer walks possible and even ate a meal, even if it was only idli sambhar, which made a change from the samosa and banana diet.
And added an extra day for my room, slowing down.
