Asterix

Had a walk around in Angoulême.  Apparently it's the comic book capital of France, with a massive comics festival annually.  There's streets named after Hergé (Tintin) and René Goscinny (Asterix), as well as loads of comic murals on the buildings.  The local bus network is even named Möbius, I think in tribute to Moebius (who's also got a museum in his honour in the town).
It absolutely bucketed down while we were there, but otherwise it seemed like a nice place.
