Afternoon harvest

Plums from different trees in the orchard. The smallest yellow ones (really delicious, akin to a mirabelle in taste) were from a wild thing, grown in the wrong place, but with hideously sharp spikes, some 4 or 5 inches long. Never seen a plum tree with sharp spikes before. Anyone better informed than me?
