Broken

Cathleen suddenly noticed this morning that this tree, which is beside the path up to the study, had  broken in two  , with the larger and higher bit lodged between two branches of another tree, which had prevented it falling.

We don't know when it happened, but looking at what is left in the ground, it was clearly damaged some time ago and presumably  a gust of wind from a particularly sensitive direction completed the job at some stage in the past few days. .
