Wetherby Cinema
We had hearing tests arranged for this morning in Wetherby (pardon?) and while Mrs madwill was being tested I went on a walk around some of the old railway lines (now cycle paths) and finished up at the front of the cinema.
It was originally opened in 1915..and has been a cinema, bingo hall and billets for troops heading to the First World War.
It is officially known as Wetherby Film Theatre and has two small screens with a range of sofas and easy chairs to sit on. There are small tables and wine coolers ..refreshments can be brought directly to the seats.
I noticed that they have some special ‘Senior Screenings’ for over 60s…admission £9 which includes cake and a hot drink!
As for the hearing…we both have a slight loss of high frequency hearing (age related maybe) but nothing that would be improved by any hearing aids. Sounds good to me…
I have added an extra of one of the bridges that crosses the old railway lines..looking good in the sunshine. The view is looking towards Spofforth (which is about 3 miles away)
