Hellebore and Mowing…

… Himself is mowing! (So he must be feeling better).

I went out and met a friend for coffee (nice).
The little town I intended to come home via was closed for roadworks. There was a reassuring diversion sign. (I say ‘reassuring’ as I’m not good ‘off piste’. I do have a sat nav but it’s as old as me.. So old that they don’t make updates for it any more).
So, an unexpected adventure! We bravely set about the diversion route; a happy little band of us. (A silver one, a sporty one, a red one and me). Three point seven miles into the diversion, with a paucity of yellow signs, I could sense unrest in the group. Silver pulled into a lay-by. Another three miles and red had bailed and randomly turned left. I was now leading and after another couple of miles I noticed sporty had gone too. A most welcome yellow sign urged me onwards, but it was small and seemed to have lost confidence in itself.
I did another three miles before bailing myself (but only because I hit a crossroads that I felt I vaguely recognised).
It was seven miles before I passed another vehicle! I must say the countryside was looking lush and fabulous. I wonder how much further the diversion would have diverted?

Note to self.. Next time you’re in a coffee shop an hour away from home, don’t dicker. Use the facilities!

The wine forecast is resumed after a little sabbatical and is looking rosy.
And it’s chip night!
Happy Friday One and All! :-)
