Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2025 Sunday — Easter Celebration

Yesterday's Easter afternoon gathering was free; today's memories are priceless. We're so thankful we were invited. Mr. Fun & I are so glad we attended.

The holiday meal was beyond bountiful: Ham, tri tip, and turkey were the entrees, and every possible side-dish -- green salads, potato salads, vegetables, baked beans, bread & rolls were enjoyed, and a half dozen tempting desserts.

This was held at a home built as a "motor hotel" in 1951 and thru the years renovations have provided a wonderfully large courtyard that is now furnished with large picnic tables, outdoor sofas, chairs, lots of umbrellas, and the ocean as a back drop. No less than 30 people, family and friends of the host couple, enjoyed fellowship. Our ages spanned from a crawling baby to 90 years young, with over a dozen high school/college-age students. All the guests are interesting fun people from various walks of life.

It was a meaningful occasion for these two people. We felt privileged to listen to table talk about local history and definitely entertained as we watched the students engage in games. The weather was better than anyone had anticipated.

All of this followed a wonderful morning Resurrection Worship Celebration with a stirring sermon from the New Testament, Acts 8:26-39, about Philip and an important man from Ethiopia who, while sitting in a chariot reading an Old Testament scroll, learned about Jesus. Pastor Luke unpacked the story and gave us new insight into the details.

It was a good day; now a fabulous memory.

Happy Easter
