Hairy and Leafy Lichens with Dripping Moss

We drove about 100 miles further north today, past Inverness to Golspie, where we have parked for the night.

We walked up Big Burn to a waterfall, saw more lichen on trees than ever before. A sure sign of clean air.

The main Blip shows a tree covered in a stringy/hairy lichen, and the first extra shows the biggest leafy lichens we've come across.

The second extra shows part of a waterfall of dripping mosses. It was such an interesting nature walk, but unfortunately the waterfall suffered from too much dry weather recently. I would take that deal for the rest of our trip.
