....violets are blue

Well, not really. These are wild violets but they're mauve or, rather, violet - not blue. Blippers who are not from the UK may not be familiar with Parma Violets, a lozenge type sweet that is pale mauve (violet?) in colour and very pleasant to taste. There  weren't any red roses nearby but these colourful cultivated primroses were a good stand-in. A bits and pieces day today but I did manage to get my hair cut which was long overdue. An interesting conversation with the barber that took in cataract operations  (recommended by the gentleman in the chair before me), growing up in a pub (her experience, the pub itself being just round the corner) and Turkish barbers (not recommended by my barber but cropping up everywhere these days).
