Charlottesville

Down to C'ville for the weekend for a few events along the path to approaching graduation. We attended Isabelle's research symposium this afternoon and enjoyed seeing many posters summarizing a lot of brilliant projects and listening to a variety of students explain their procedures and findings. I comprehended a word now and then. Did you know that water fleas are actually crustaceans? 

Of course there is a strong consensus that funding for scientific research at universities is absolutely vital. It is wonderful to see how engaged and articulate and smart these kids are and how much they could contribute.

The main is where William and I are staying this weekend! an old farmhouse close to town. It's beautiful and peaceful and I'm completely charmed.
