Stepwell

The rooms an oven with an underpowered fan, the guesthouse owner doesn't understand why I won't pay ridiculously inflated prices for food that I don't want to eat. But the rooftop is incredible and from it I can listen to the various calls to prayer below intermingling and echoing off the fort. An experience worth the hassle of the place.
But here's the lesson relearned regarding how your room influences your view of a place, so three nights and off.
And I got the railway app to work and paid for it with the new card. Celebrated with Sham's Masala cream omelette which was an absolute delight and then wandered to stepwell and lake, browsed the market and did nothing of note other than eat a piece of ras malai from a sweet shop before returning to the room and swiftly the rooftop having been offered another room at 200 a night more. But the guy's too pushy, more questions about why I won't eat there etc. but also some information about the town I didn't know. The real blue city is on the other side of the fort, which kind of makes sense as the city below is not the one I have photos of on some distant hard drive.
But that's fir another day.
