(116) Radar Love

New bit of bike tech arrived today, a bike light with a rear-view radar built in. I've been aware of such things for a while now but didn't really give them much thought until having a chat with someone who has been riding with one for several months and hearing about the benefits. After a quick and easy installation I set out for an hour on the roads to check out the tech and turns out it's a very useful device. The radar pairs with my phone, which sits on a bar mount, and an app displays traffic approaching from the rear, from a distance of up to 150 metres, with an audible warning tone. In practice, the system works perfectly and is very useful for aiding situational awareness when on the bike. Essential kit? Probably not. Worth the (discounted) cost? I think so.
