Day Trip

We were up and out early doors this morning, as we’d arranged to pick up son no 1 and his partner (Danny and Sinéad) and go and explore two more towns in the Valencian area; Calpe and Javea (aka Calp and Xàbia).
We’d planned to climb the 332m high tower of the Peñón de Ifach that towers over Calpe but unluckily (or luckily as it looked huge) we were supposed to have booked it in advance. We also tried the Playa La Granadella for a swim (beautiful cove but too busy) and instead ended up on the Arenal beach in Javea, where we had an excellent swim and a very good lunch.
We headed back to Valencia (Dan and Sinéad are staying over) once we’d explored Javea old town and then caught up with all of the footage from the Pope’s funeral.
