500's

A few of us had been closely .monitoring Elaine's parkrun profile so that we could celebrate her 500th volunteer milestone.  It coincided with the date that parkrun HQ designated as the parkwalk relaunch and Elaine added herself as a parkwalker but did not mention the milestone to anyone.  Marion and I, until the day before, had been talking about being in Norfolk for the weekend.  On the day, RD Alison announced the milestone in the briefing. Gordon plonked a hat on Elaine's head as she, Emma and Bailey stood to one side of the briefing and she knew we were onto her.  
I'd made an extra effort with bunting at the finish and the team left it in place until the very end when Elaine was presented with token 500.    Barbara who had completed her 500th parkrun just ahead of us was at the finish for lots of celebratory photos.
We then enjoyed prosecco, cannoli, tablet, brownies and coffee at the zoo. Fantastic.
