Amid lichen-covered twigs
Organising and packing for our trip tomorrow to Sydney and thence to the Blue Mountains occupied much of the day. Mid-morning, during a pause in the persistent rain, a Kereru flew above our drive (in between the taller trees) and I was able to track the sound of it's flight into a tree on the other side of the road. It was still there when I came back outside with the Pentax and took a couple of photos.
Although it wasn't raining then, later in the day the weather was not conducive to good photography. There was cloud cover most of the day. Rain began in short showers, and progressed to persistent and usually heavy showers. Fog added to the low intensity of light.
Young L arrived very early; back from Greece and Italy. He says he managed to sleep 10 hours during the flight from Doha to Auckland. By mid to late afternoon he was sleepy and ready for bed. When I was younger and flying from Auckland to Europe for conferences, my pattern was to shift my social rhythms to the new time zone, including a morning run. I found that I rarely experienced Jet Lag. Perhaps He will have the same experience.
Our flight tomorrow morning is scheduled for 09:30. Checked in on-line this evening. S did that for us both. The last time either of us has travelled out of the country was in 2018, when we piggy-backed on my attendance at a conference in Iceland and visited parts of England and Wales, and met a few Blip friends. This trip is for a conference in Gold Coast, with a short holiday with Tsuken before it.
