Empress

Well I was out at 7.00 on the dot to go and see the traps. The temperature had dropped more than anticipated so it was colder and there was a gusty west wind so we weren't too hopeful  however there was great excitement when this wonderful female Emperor moth was found in the first trap. 
The other good one was a Fox Moth [ in the extras]. Otherwise there were about another 16 species found , all smaller and less ' in your face' but still very interesting.
I left there at 9.10 to go swimming - a lovely 20 minute swim around in 10C water - I'm exhausted now!
