Easter lilies

The lilies that were bought for Easter have not fully opened yet but they are looking good. We had coffee, brownies and chocolate escargots after the service. We were able to ring eight bells beforehand. Otherwise, it has been a quiet day. I had determined to finish my book, Les Vautours de Bugarach, a local crime novel in a series based around the department. Bodies are thrown off a local mountain for the vultures to feed on and the local detectives have to solve the case. In 2012 when the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world, hundreds of New Age people camped on Bugarach for up to a year in the expectation of being saved from the catastrophe. The area has long had a reputation for paranormal and mystical happenings. I have not hiked up the mountain yet but it is on my shortlist.
