This lovely pair of Moorhens are busy nest building on the edge of the river opposite the garden.    It will be interesting to check on progress and hopefully see some Moorhen chicks in due course.
A couple of days ago I saw my first Swallows flying low over the wheat fields and today I've seen four swooping over the river and then soaring high up.   They didn't come to rest on the overhead wires whilst I was there, but hopefully I'll get to photograph them soon.
