Aquatic invertebrate larvae.

It is said that every day is a school day and for me it certainly felt like that today - back to Biology which was a subject I did enjoy.

At our Rotary meeting a few months ago we had a speaker telling us about a scheme to monitor our local river water quality by studying aquatic invertebrates. He was looking for volunteers so as president I felt I needed to show a good example - I don’t think anyone else did !

After an online training session a few weeks ago this was the day for practical training in the river. I now know how to collect the samples and how to identify the different larvae but it will take a bit more practice before I am competent at sorting out these wriggly little creatures !
