Langdale

Today has been cloudy, but pleasant, with a similar day forecast for tomorrow, but after that I’m glad to say there is plenty of sunshine forecast for the week ahead.

This lovely rustic sign is in the grounds of Langdale Church of England primary school, which is right opposite the Co-op village store at Chapel Stile, just up the road from our timeshare estate. We had lunch at Brambles café upstairs above the shop, where Smithers had one of Samantha’s wonderful quiches and I had a portion of her leek, apple, hazelnut and Stilton crumble, both served with her delicious salads.

This afternoon we walked to the lake (Elter Water) and back, but it was too overcast to get any decent shots, so I’ll wait to blip that classic view when the sun is shining. Meanwhile, this photo is proof positive that we’ve actually arrived at Langdale!
