The London Marathon

Today Wendy and I went into Canary Wharf to watch some of the Marathon. The weather was lovely for us but probably a little too warm for the runners. It was such a great atmosphere and we were standing by quite a few people who were eagerly awaiting for their friends and relatives to come into view.
After this we caught the Docklands Light Railway to Canning Town to visit Trinity Buoy Wharf. It's on the north side of the Thames right opposite the O2 Arena. It's a very interesting place which was originally wharves and docks, and includes small galleries, an old Steam Ship - the SS Robin, a Lightship, London's first Tide Clock and London's only remaining Experimental Lighthouse built in 1864. It was never used to aid navigation on the Thames, but rather to experiment and develop lighting equipment for the Trinity House network of lighthouses, lightships and buoys.
