A walk along the South Sound
The council and/or the county have made a walk along the sea, on the mainland side of the South Sound. There are all-weather hammocks, benches, picnic spots, and notices telling us visitors about the animals, birds, and plants in the area.
Since we were going to town anyway we decided to walk that path before seeing the film.
Just behind the shelter in my blip you can see the stones that feature in HarlingDarling's blip! Down here next to the sea, spring has not come as far as it has nearer home. The sea is a giant heat-sink at this time of year. Much better to live a short way inland!
You can see the town in the distance, at the head of the South Sound.
We went to town to see the French classic film Plein Soleil, with the English title, Purple Noon. It was the film version of Highsmith's "The Talented Mr Ripley. I'm often in two minds about classic films but this one impressed me. It was one of the first Alain Delon films in which he played the title role and he made an excellent, believable, and extremely attractive psychopath.
